NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2011
We receive regular reports from SUAN in Lamka - regarding the day to day work on the ACCOMMODATION BLOCK.
The Hope Foundation Trust project at PEARSONMUN just outside Lamka now has two Cement Concrete buildings. One was completed in 2010 and the other one, which is the Accommodation Block is near completion. We have also built a smaller house where our current caretaker and his family live.
What we see now is nothing like compared to the day in January 2008 when we laid the Foundation Stone for the project.
When I look at the photos that Suan sends us - it is quite amazing how things are taking place. Sometimes it may seem slow progress - but we have to bear in mind that the people working on the site do not have access to any type of machines to help them make the work easier. Everything is very labour intensive.
As we have set a target to complete all construction by 2012 and to start rehabilitating our targeted people, we think that with this pace of work we will complete our Accommodation block ground floor by this year.
For a fully functioning project, we need at least a good wall for some area of our land as it is impractical to rehabilitate without having some kind of security wall. There are a number of rehab centres in Churachandpur Town (Lamka) with no proper fencing/wall and they are compelled to use a CHAIN system for the residents!! (This of course is against their Human Rights and is also very demeaning). In our case we are to rehabilitate the same group of people with those in Rehab centres that are already functioning. Our prayer is to DO THE SAME THING, BUT DO IT DIFFERENTLY, and hope that our Home must be totally free from CHAIN SYSTEM and so treat everyone with the love and respect that they long for and deserve.
PLEASE PRAY………that God will help us to do everything in the best way possible, that those that need help will receive it through people who love and care for them
